DSSC Support Services

The Data Spaces Support Centre (DSSC) provides targeted support to help data spaces address challenges, accelerate their development, and benefit from reusable knowledge and best practices across Europe. Support is available to both emerging and established data spaces at different stages of maturity.

What we offer

How DSSC can support your data space

DSSC offers a range of complementary support services:

Community & Sector Orchestration

Join a European community of data spaces and connect with peers through dedicated Sector Orchestrators. Sector Orchestrators facilitate collaboration within and across sectors, identify common challenges, and help channel sector-specific needs into DSSC activities, guidance, and tools.

Value Coaching

Receive tailored support for specific challenges affecting your data space. DSSC Value Coaches work with you to better understand and structure challenges, identify potential solutions, and provide practical recommendations and guidance. Support can address topics such as business models, governance, legal and regulatory issues, interoperability, sustainability, adoption, and scaling.

Acceleration Projects

For challenges that affect multiple data spaces, DSSC can facilitate collaborative Acceleration Projects. These initiatives bring together stakeholders facing similar issues to jointly analyse challenges and develop reusable approaches, solutions, and good practices for the wider ecosystem.

Examples of challenges DSSC can support

  • Sustainable business models and long-term viability

  • Governance frameworks and rulebooks

  • Legal and regulatory challenges

  • Interoperability and standards adoption

  • Data space adoption and participant engagement

  • Scaling and operationalisation

  • Cross-data space collaboration

  • Transition beyond project funding

Maturity Assessment

The DSSC Data Spaces Maturity Model helps a data space assess and monitor its maturity, identify strengths, prioritise improvement areas, and set a structured basis for development. A data space can use it on its own, at any stage, to understand where it stands and what it needs.

It is also the starting point for support. A maturity assessment gives you and DSSC a shared view of your data space, which helps scope and direct the most relevant support services. Many data spaces begin here before requesting support, though it is not a required step.

How it works

Support requests follow a structured process. After submitting a request, DSSC reviews the challenge and conducts an intake discussion to better understand your needs. Depending on the nature and scope of the challenge, support may be provided through Value Coaching, an Acceleration Project, or existing DSSC resources and guidance.

Insights and best practices generated through support activities are continuously fed back into DSSC assets, including the Blueprint, Toolbox, guidance materials, and showcases.

How to request support

Join the DSSC community through your Sector Orchestrator, participate in knowledge-sharing activities, take part in a maturity assessment, or submit a support request to explore how DSSC can help your data space address challenges, identify opportunities, and accelerate its development.

Whether you are looking for targeted support on a specific issue, interested in collaborating with other data spaces on a common challenge, or seeking to learn from existing best practices, DSSC can help connect you with the most appropriate resources and support services.
